How to Change Your Chart Type in MT5

On Desktop (MT5)

Changing your chart type is quick and accessible from the toolbar or keyboard.

Steps to Change Chart Type

1. Open the

   Market Watch

   panel (Ctrl + M)

2. Right-click on an asset and select

   “Chart Window”

   , or drag it into an open chart

3. Use the top toolbar to choose a chart style:

   • Alt + 1

     → Bar Chart

   • Alt + 2

     → Candlestick Chart

   • Alt + 3

     → Line Chart

If you don’t see these icons, go to View → Toolbars and ensure “Charts” is selected.

Tip: Most traders prefer candlesticks for their clarity and price pattern visibility.

On iOS (MT5)

Steps on iPhone/iPad

1. Go to the

   Quotes

   tab and tap on an asset

2. Tap on the

   Chart

   to open it

3. Tap again on the chart area and select

   “Settings”

4. Choose your chart type:

   Candlestick

   ,

   Bar

   , or

   Line

On Android Devices

MT5 Android

1. Tap an asset from the

   Quotes

   tab to open the chart

2. Tap anywhere on the chart to open the

   radial menu

3. Select the

   gear icon

   , then tap

   Line Type

4. Choose your preferred view
